I’m currently living in west Waterford in the lovely Mount Melleray. I suppose from a young age I was involved in all sorts of sports, anything I could put my hand to. A lot of it was to try get some time out of school!! But Camogie was my main sport and the one I enjoyed most. Unfortunately we don’t have a ladies Camogie team here  in Melleray, so I had to venture to the town close by Cappoquin where I would have began playing underage hurling with the boys. That would certainly toughen you up! I am currently playing with our Senior Camogie club team. I would have also played in primary school and we had many good years and victories in both Camogie and Football.

I first got introduced to the county like set up through primary games, academy’s and worked my way up through all the age groups u14, u16 and Minor, winning a Minor B All Ireland in the process. I was then called up on to the Intermediate panel. In 2015 we won the Intermediate Final. I was lucky enough to be player of the match that day and that year I was chosen for a soaring star award along with my teammates Trish Jackman and Beth Carton.

It was then onto the Senior scene we moved. In the last few years we have been really pushing close to All Ireland Finals and we made it to the All Ireland in 2023 but unfortunately suffered defeat. But what a brilliant learning experience it was and showing our progression over the last few years. I have been captain of the Senior team for two years now. I have been fortunate enough to have been recognised for some individual awards including players of the match awards, GPA player of the month, local awards, player of the year nomination in 2022 and All Stars in 2019 (wing back) , 2022 (midfield) and 2023 (midfield) . These accolades are something you will always have in years to come but it’s everyone around you that makes those possible.

I have played on the adult inter county team for the last 11 years and I wouldn’t change a minute of it. Main position throughout the years has been midfield.
